How to Delete Your Bumble Account

The account takes a minute to delete. The subscription keeps billing until you cancel it separately.

You can delete your Bumble account in a minute, but that won't cancel your subscription.

Maybe you met someone. Maybe you're just done. Either way, the deletion itself is simple. The subscription is the part that catches people: it's billed separately from your account, so deleting the account or uninstalling the app doesn't touch it. Here's how to handle both, in the right order.

Should you delete or snooze your Bumble account?

Before you delete anything, it's worth knowing that Bumble has a Snooze Mode that does something very different from deletion.

Snooze Mode hides you from other users while keeping everything in place: matches, conversations, profile. Turn it off whenever you want and you're back exactly where you were. It's built for a break, not an exit.

Deleting wipes the account for good: profile, matches, every conversation. It cannot be undone. If you know you're not coming back, delete.

What should you do before you delete Bumble?

Deletion is instant and final, so a two-minute sweep beforehand saves real regret.

  1. Cancel your subscription if you have one. Steps below; this is the one people forget.
  2. Request a copy of your data if you want it, through the privacy option in Bumble's settings.
  3. Save anything you'd miss from your conversations, including contact info for anyone you plan to stay in touch with. Threads disappear for both of you.
  4. Then delete.

How do you delete your Bumble account on iPhone?

  1. Open the Bumble app and tap your profile icon in the bottom left.
  2. Tap the Settings gear icon in the upper right.
  3. Scroll down and tap Delete Account.
  4. Bumble will ask why you're leaving and may offer alternatives. You can skip these.
  5. Confirm the deletion. Your account is now permanently removed.

One warning if you use more than one Bumble mode: deletion applies to the whole account. You can't delete one mode and keep another.

How do you delete your Bumble account on Android?

  1. Open the Bumble app and tap your profile icon.
  2. Tap the Settings gear icon.
  3. Scroll down and tap Delete Account.
  4. Follow the prompts. Bumble may offer alternatives before confirming.
  5. Confirm. Your account, matches, and conversations are permanently gone.

How do you snooze your Bumble account instead?

  1. Open the Bumble app and go to Settings.
  2. Tap Snooze Mode.
  3. Choose how long: 24 hours, 72 hours, 1 week, or indefinitely.
  4. Your profile is hidden from other users. Matches and messages stay intact.
  5. To come back, go to Settings and turn off Snooze Mode.

How do you cancel your Bumble subscription? (Do this first)

If you subscribed on your phone, Bumble Premium, Boost, and Premium+ are billed by Apple or Google, not by Bumble, so nothing you do inside the Bumble app stops the charges. You have to cancel through the store that bills you. If you subscribed through Bumble's website, cancel there instead, under your account's payment settings.

Cancel on iPhone (App Store)

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone (the system Settings app, not Bumble).
  2. Tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions.
  3. Find Bumble in the list and tap it.
  4. Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.

Cancel on Android (Google Play Store)

  1. Open the Google Play Store app.
  2. Tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  3. Find Bumble and tap it.
  4. Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts.

Cancel first, then delete. And if you already deleted the account and forgot the subscription, you haven't lost your chance: the subscription lives in your App Store or Play Store settings, not in your Bumble account, so you can still cancel it there.

Does uninstalling Bumble delete your account?

No. Uninstalling removes the app from your phone and nothing else. Your profile stays visible to other users, your matches stay open, and any subscription keeps billing. If you want to disappear from Bumble, delete the account. If you want to stop paying, cancel the subscription. Uninstalling does neither.

What happens to your data after you delete Bumble?

Your profile comes down right away, and your matches see the conversation disappear on their end. Off the app doesn't mean off the servers, though: like most apps, Bumble can hold onto some data for a while after you delete, for legal and safety reasons.

If you want a copy of your data, request it through the data-download or privacy option in Bumble's settings while the account still exists. The request option disappears with the account.

What if you're leaving because the apps stopped working for you?

Plenty of Bumble deletions have nothing to do with Bumble. The swipe format wears people down wherever it appears: the endless deck, the conversations that stall, the sense of repeating the same week and hoping something changes. If that's what brought you here, the exhaustion is a reaction to the design, not a personal failing.

Quitting is one answer. Changing the structure is another. A few apps cap how many people you see each day and require mutual interest before a conversation can start. Kindex works that way: five introductions a day, built for high-intent interracial dating. Whatever you choose next, pick it for its structure, not its brand. Our guide to the best Hinge alternatives breaks the options down by what wore you out, and our piece on dating app burnout can help you figure out whether you're done with the apps or just done for now.

Frequently asked questions

Does deleting Bumble cancel my subscription?

No. Deleting your Bumble account does not cancel your subscription. If you subscribed on your phone, Premium, Boost, and Premium+ are billed by Apple or Google, and deleting your account or uninstalling the app leaves the subscription running. Cancel it in your App Store or Play Store settings, or through Bumble's website if you subscribed there.

Can you reactivate a deleted Bumble account?

Once you confirm deletion, the account is permanently gone: profile, matches, and messages. To use Bumble again you'd have to start over with a brand-new account. If you're unsure, use Snooze Mode instead; it hides your profile but keeps everything intact.

Will Bumble keep your data after you delete your account?

Bumble takes your profile down immediately, but like most apps it can keep some data for a while once the account is gone, for legal and safety reasons. If you want a copy of what Bumble holds, request it through the app's privacy settings before you delete, because afterward there's no account to request from.
